Hello All,
It's been a few years now since I developed Hypercard stacks

Now I want to learn LiveCode 4.6 (and iOS deployment).
I am looking for an absolute beginners tutorial (Video?) on LiveCode stacks, and programming. Can someone please point me to a 'dummies guide to ...' LiveCode?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Kind Regards,

Hi Ed,
I found the courses here a great starting point and beyond.
http://livecode.byu.edu/
There is an Introduction to Livecode section as well as a number of very useful links.
Oh and welcome to the community.

The good news is you already know how this all works. Just a few more language elements and you're in.
A few handfuls of hundreds.

Hello Cuz (is that still a common greeting between Americans and Antipodeans?) -
Good news: Much of your HyperCard experience will help you hit the ground running and make good use of years of acummulated code and algorithms.
Bad news: Much of your HyperCard experience is just different enough from LiveCode's object model and multi-platform nature that you will, from time to time, question either the wisdom of your LC license purchase, your sanity, or both.
But not to fear: many here have traveled the same road you're on now, migrating from another xTalk to LiveCode. You will eventually run into things that don't make immediate sense, and that's okay as they will make sense once you understand the how and why of the differences between LC and HC.
And most of those differences are driven by LC's multi-platform nature, so the learning curve pays off handsomely with deployment options.
I hope you'll post here regularly. Many others are doing the same as you, but not everyone posts all the questions they have, so when someone does it undoubtedly helps many others.
I look forward to seeing your progress here, and reading your press release when your apps hit the App Store.
