Error while initializing development environment

Post by Simon » Sat Mar 01, 2008 9:48 pm

Revolution and I are not getting along this week.

Now I have the above error message for all my stacks. Simple answer, re-install Revolution? Not so simple, some how Revolution 2.8.1 is now trashing my registry on install so that many other applications no longer function.
I've tried using restore points and that gets my other apps working correctly but I end up with the above error message.

Running on Window XP sp2 and it was running Rev 2.8.1 build 472.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Simon

OK, Revolution and I are at a truce now.

It was the uninstaller not the installer that was causing the problems.

Everything working well for now.

I am running Windows 8.1 and LiveCode 6.6.4 and getting the above message when I try to open any stack by clicking on it. The same stack opens on my work computer (Windows 7, LC ver. not available now) by that method without any problem. I tried different versions but same result. Fortunately, if I open LC, I can then open a stack within LC. Simon said that the uninstaller was the problem, but I don't understand how he fixed that problem. Any suggestions much appreciated. BTW, I finally got PDFs to open within LC using the revBrowser. Make my week!
