affiliate settings?

I just updated to Rev 4.0.0-dp-6 and upon compilation of my web app, I noticed that there is a new option called Affiliate Settings... There's a checkbox and an input box for some sort of ID, what's this for and how do I "harness" it's powers?

*Note:I just updated from Rev 4.0.0-dp-4 because I've been away from Revolution for quite some time now.

Under the Help menu is a menuItem called "Be an Affiliate". Once you register your ID is automatically filled in on the Web form.
