Standalone application cant open

Hi I purchased revolution studio along time ago, version 2.6.1 for Mac OS X. I have created a very simple stack, it consists of buttons that just goto another card that has an image and back. I saved it as a standalone application and even went to Standalone settings and selected Built for Windows. It saved as a folder with 2 sub folders, Mac and Win. I opened the Mac version on my Mac and it opens (tho i dont know if its really stand alone since i see it opened the revol icon in my dock)
I opened the folder on my Windows XP laptop (which doesnt have revol) and it was 2 folders again, Mac and Win. When i opened the Windows folder it just contained my program but couldnt open it. Says the file type is Application, and the folder also had a file .DS_Store.
I hope this is a simple error on my part and i can create a Windows standalone program using Rev STudio on my MAc.
Thanks

hi tenzin khedrup,
What does that mean, can't open? What exactly happens? Anything at all? Can you see the process appear in the task manager?
If the disk you copied the application to is not a network partiction used by a Mac, you may as well delete the file .DS_Store. It has nothing to do with Revolution.
Best,
Mark

Hi Mark
On my Windows XP laptop:
When i open the standalone app it was saved as a folder with 2 sub folders inside. when i open the folder and open the sub folder called Windows i see my application so i double click on it and it gives me a windows error message. "Main Page 1.0.0.0 for windows has encountered a problem and needs to close..." The program doesnt even open.
On Mac OS X (which i have rev studio on and used to create the app)When i saved it as a standalone app on my mac and specify built for Windows, i noticed that the folder contained 2 folders, 1 for Windows and 1 for Mac. The file in the Mac folder opened and i saw my Application and it ran (again not sure if it was indeed standalone since i saw it open rev icon on my dock) but when i opened the Windows folder on my Mac it was just 1 file, and it was a .exe file.
I hope this clears things up, sorry if this was confusing. Let me know where you need more detailed info on.

Hi tenzin khedrup,
If I understand you correctly, the Mac OS X version runs fine.
What happens if you create a standalone for Windows from a completely empty stack? Can you open the standalone without getting error messages?
Any externals or database drivers in your stack?
Best,
Mark

i made a stack with nothing but a single drop down menu, nothing else, no scripts nothing and i saved it as a standalone and also made the standalone settings for Windows. I opened it in Windows and it gave me an error message saying "cant open file...., error was 0,0"
i dont have any externals or database drivers in my original stack.
thx

Hi tenzin khedrup,
When did you install Rev 2.6.1 and what is the size of your standalone for Windows?
Is there a folder Externals? Haven't you deleted that folder?
Could you please try building it again, but without having the standalone builder to automatically search for inclusions?
Best,
Mark

Thank you for all your help Mark. In the end i saved alot of time by just starting from scratch. It seems that the only real change i made is that i had unknowingly been setting my standalone settings to be built for both Mac OS X and Windows. I have set it to just Windows and it seems to be working fine. Nevertheless, thanks for the quick response and help
