Unicode Problem

Hey All

I'm having a problem with using unicode text in our program. It's only a small problem, but nonetheless, one that could really do with being sorted.
The problem is that when using chinese characters random black lines appear above and below the text, regardless of what colours are being used, it's not underline
or overline (if that's even a thing) and when swapping the displayed text to a different language the lines disappear, and then re-appear when swapped back to the
chinese text.

Any ideas?
