Strange - can anyone confirm?

Seems that under Win XP Rev 2.8.1 can't
read file names properly.
I named a file myProg and the second
version myProg2.
Rev thinks that I have two files with the same
name.
Tried my2Prog and got the same result.
Very strange.....

Hi,
Rev does not look at the filename, but at the name property. So if you just copied the file and renamed it, the name property will be the same and rev will prompt you of that.
All the best,
Malte

Thanks malte. Seems strange to a Win person!

Hi bjb007,
even as a mostly Mac person I do not like that behaviour and would love to see that changed at some point. Each stackfile should be unique regardless of the name. This seems to be historical, but I really hope for a change at some point.
All the best,
Malte
Changes to Rev?

Be careful. You could be up on a charge of
heresy if you go around suggesting changes to
Rev.
Still as "the Management" never venture into these
parts you might be OK.
I noticed that a couple of years or so ago "the Management"
were planning on setting up a Wiki-style site for Rev.
Wonder when it'll happen?
Would be a vast improvement on the present situation.
I also note that despite short-changing present users on
the help front we're now offered an upgrade to V2.9
"with new and revised" help.
My feeling is that everyone should get it.

Yes, it seems like there was a missed opportunity when they changed the file format with 2.7.
Best,
