An inaccessible interface.

I want to display photos on a tablet, though it could be anything, for the purposes of this post. Because the public will have free access to the navigation of the display (not a slide show), I want to prevent anyone from closing the app and messing about with the device. A bit like a kiosk.
Come on, own up, how many of you have tried to get the demo PC, in PC World, to break out of its demo loop?
To regain control of the device after the presentation, I would either reset or have a secret location to touch.
Any ideas of a simple way to exclude little fingers?

Is it this:
on keyDown
--do not pass
end keyDown

does that block the HOME button?
There would be no keyboard access for typing characters, just touch simple navigation icons.

No... it doesn't block the 'home' button...

Used to be able to block Home button in earlier versions of Android.
Apps that take over the Home button are showing malware like behaviour (taking control of device from the user) and this has been disallowed in Android 4+.
I expect that iOS would be the same, but if it's a kiosk like setup you want have a look at iOS 6's "guided access"...

it might do what you want...
