Why cant I unlock the "In Depth" video tutorials?

I have bought Rev 2.9 studio. When I go to Documents -> Getting started -> In depth... it tells me I need "Buy Now, not available in demo". I dont have a demo key, the key I received should be full version as I did pay for it. Why cant I unlock these videos?

If you scroll waaay down the email with
your Rev reg code you'll find another
code for the advanced videos.

Install Quicktime 7.5 otherwise you'll get
an error!

Edit: Just done this myself and it still doesn't work
with Win XP. Downloads the video but makes a
real mess of playing it - sound but no video.

Try opening the video with QT but first you'll have
to find where Rev has put it - on drive C: somewhere.

Edit: Don't need QT as they're .avi files
in My Documents\My Revolution Studio\Resources\Video Tutorials
...but why? Move them to a directory under Rev for easier
access.

well that threw me off because it specifically says not available in demo. and i dont have the demo. I didnt think to look for another key from the email i got a couple months ago. thanks for the help!

on a mac Revolution installs a special Codec for the tutorial videos
it is Techsmith (the company) and ensharpen (the codec)

I suppose one needs this codec on windows too, because regardless of whether it is mov or avi, if you don't have the codec you cannot replay the videos.

btw, Quicktime can play avi as long as the codecs are there.

In my installation in the programms folder there is a Revolution Studio folder in that folder is a 'third party' folder wherein is a 'TechSmiths EnSharpen Codec' folder. in that folder is an installer for the codec.

Of course one has to register for the additional material first, but you said that already.

could this be this is a lead?

In rare cases, you may have to restart for the Ensharpen encoder to get loaded - some people have reported that they can't hear the audio or have only audio and no video, until they restart.

Hope this gets you closer - if that doesn't solve it, I can only suggest that you send an email to support@runrev.com

I enquired about this problem quite a while
ago and was told it was a QT thing and/or
it would be fixed.

Anyway on Windows they can be played.
Don't know whether with Win Media Player
(gave up on that a long time ago)
but if not get free "Media Player Classic"
which plays things that Win Media Player
won't.
