Hi,
I experienced some of the cases in 6.6 (on windows 7) where it hung up. Now I cannot get a clean install on 6.5, 6.5.2, 6.6 (I've not tried all the versions).
I have cleaned out all LC installations, rebooted the PC, installed 6.5. It starts up ok but as soon as I try to do anything - just open the dictionary, never mind a stack, it seems to go into an infinite loop - windows tasks manager shows LC is using 25% of CPU. It does so for >2hr without any apparent progress.

I assume that I've crocked something on the PC but no idea what.

The Windows hang in v6.6 was reported fixed in v6.6.1, now in testing:

Please run that Release Candidate build, and if the problem persists please add your notes to the bug report for that issue:

Unfortunately for me 6.6.1 (rc1) also freezes almost immediately for me in Win 7 64bit. I added a comment in the bug report.

Unfortunately this is not to do with 6.6, or any specific version.
Also other versions (6.1, 6.5) I used with no problem earlier in the year.
For any version of the IDE, when I click on the 'Dictionary' icon (or select it from the menu), the whole thing locks up.

LC support informed me that there's a references file in users/appdata/runrev (windows 7). That seems to have got corrupted.
So just renamed that & a new clean file was created by the system.

Glad to see the team was able to address the hanging issue.

If you happen to find a recipe for corrupting the prefs file please file a bug report against it.
