Is there a way for a text item to retain its foregroundColor
setting when it's move to a different field?

Hi.

Check out the "HTMLText" in the dictionary.

set the effective HTMLtext of fld 2 to the effective HTMLtext of fld 1

I am still in v.6. I believe that in v.8 there is yet another text-maintaining method, but have forgotten what it is.
