Property profiles on LC8

Having to localize a standalone, I would like to know if property profiles are going to be reintroduced (in the Property inspector) or not, in the near future of LC 8.
The fact that they are missing from the inspector and that the bug report 17182 has been sitting there for a while, makes me thing that the LC developers may have change their mind on their usefulness.
Is it true?
