Hi,
maybe i'm blind or just don't know where to find it but...
in the release notes is this sentence:

mergZXing - no longer supportable as the ZXing project no longer supports iOS. Use
mergAVCam for barcode capture instead.

But were can i find mergAVcam?
Even google can't find it, just for a few instances not pointing on were to get it.
Can't find it in the documentation, can't find it on Livecode.com

Is it also for Android? The most used mobile platform in the world ?

Thanks!

Hi Jerry,

The mergAV external is included in the LC app bundle on Indy and Business editions (in LC >= 8.1.0). Search the dictionary for mergAVCam* and you'll see all the related commands/functions.

It is supported only on iOS and OSX. When you build a standalone that uses these commands/function, you have to add mergAV in the "Inclusions" pane of the Standalone Settings.

Hope this helps,
Panos

Hi Panos,

ok clear!

Thanks for your help.
Hope to get the indy version in a forseeable future :)

Any chanche for getting it to Android?
Market seems much bigger then iOs, when looking at most used mobile OS.

MergAV is faster and more accurate than MergZX, hence mergZX was depreciated. There are barcode calls in mergav. There is also a sample stack that demonstrates how to use it for scanning barcodes. All the MergAV calls are documented in the dictionary.
