flcDatePicker doesn't work with 8.1.8

Hi,

I've been using flcdatepicker for a number of years now. It works fine under LC 8.0.1 but not under 8.1.8. The guy who wrote flcdatepicker is retired, so doesn't want to put time into fixing it.

Is there an easy alternative to flcdatepicker? I'm on Windows desktop

Thanks

Greg

Hi.

I have used "CalendarPane". Seems fine.

Never heard of either of those, what did flcDatePicker do?

Craig, your link went 404 :)

Bogs.

Hmmm. Yep, gone.

I have the calendarPane stack. Does this mean I cannot share it? It was free when it was alive.

I have no idea, I never heard of either of these before seeing them here in this thread :)

IF the program had an email to contact, you might drop them a line and ask though, no harm in that I'm sure.

Bogs.

CalendarPane, like others of its kind, present a calendar that you can click on and extract dates. Very useful if you need that sort of thing. I just latched onto this one just because, and that it is just a stack. The thread I referenced is several years old, which is why you likely did not see it.

So in general, with essentially a freeware stack, though not loaded onto any sort of open repository, is it considered ethical to give it to someone else when the author is no longer around?

Well, you know if I made it, you (and anyone else) would pretty much have the freedom you want with it. I think if it was (in the original place and time) distributed freely without any limitation, there shouldn't be a problem.

I seem to remember a lesson on how to make a calendar yourself similar to what your describing. Hmmm, now the question is where did I see it...

*Edit - it figures, the calendar tutorial I previously saw was in the RR3 resources, and I don't see it in Lc 8.x  The question becomes similar to Craig's question, is it safe to share a pdf that was in a (formerly) paid for product, but was included in the teaching materials?

HOWEVER, I did also remember that this page had an excellent tutorial on how to build one!
