(Using Windows) ... I've set up a "main menu" stack, with a menu bar at the top. The menu bar items have the usual keyboard shortcuts. So, for instance, the "File" menu can be accessed via Alt-F.

How do I get the keyboard shortcuts to work when the stack is first opened ? If I click the stack, then the keyboard shortcuts work fine, but on the first opening, nothing happens. I've tried using on openCard to focus on a button on the card, and I've tried sending mouseUp to the card, and a whole bunch of other things, but I haven't hit on the right combination yet.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Modification to the original question (we live and learn):

Having built an executable, I now realise that the keyboard shortcuts to the menus work fine, as long as the mouse pointer is within the card. Move the mouse outside the card, and even though the card still has focus, the keyboard shortcuts don't work !

I tried the same thing with Notepad (a very basic Windows text processor), and as long as the card still has focus, the keyboard shortcuts work, regardless of where the mouse pointer is.

I'll keep looking at this, but does anyone know how to persuade these menu shortcuts to work for the focused card, regardless of where the cursor is ?
