Installation path for Mac

Post by bidgeeman » Sat Oct 17, 2009 4:10 am

Hello.

I am trying to build an installer for Windows and Mac. I don't own a Mac and am wondering what the installatiuon path equivalent to:
C:/Program Files/ would be for the Mac?
Any advice/tips would be much appreciated.

Many thanks
Bidge

Mac programs nearly always get installed by simply copying the application bundle to the /Applications folder from the Finder. It will feel more Mac-like if you simply create a disk image and let the user drop-install it themselves.
One really nice and simple installer available for both Mac and Windows is InstallGadget - written in Revolution and dead easy to use.

A quick google revealed TransMac but there might be other tools out there.
