Revolution Dictionary Add Note ... cannot connect

Post by larryh » Wed Apr 29, 2009 10:29 pm

Hi,

I am trying to add user contributed notes to Rev Dictionary. I registered for a login but when I try I get the following message:

Couldn't connect to serve. Please try again later.

I am wondering if this is a firewall problem. Is there a specific port I need to open up?

Thanks,

Larry

larryh,

to quote myself regarding the inability to log into revonline 3.5
I wrote about login problems of Rev 3.5 revOnline to Heather (support at RunRev).
She replied that they have technical problems they are trying to solve.
So even if you registered you might have to try it periodically, if you get the 'can not connect to server' message.
regards
I think these problems are related. I am not behind a firewall, so it is not only a firewall problem (dont know what happens if you are behind a firewall, nor do I know what port they are using)
regards
Bernd

Larry,

today I got an email from RunRev:
We've just uploaded Revolution 3.5 gm-2, which contains a patch for the revOnline issue. If you go to "check for updates" under your Help menu, you should be able to update to gm-2, and then you should be able to successfully log in to the new revOnline.

I hope this helps,
Regards,
Heather
I updated and was able add a note in the dictionary as well as to log into RevOnline
regards
Bernd
