Hi All,
I have a simple windows exe that I built using 64 bit windows 7. It works fine for me.
I gave a copy to a friend who has a 32 bit system and he gets an error message saying:
"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, then contact the software publisher"
Any way I can build a 32-bit windows compatible .exe on 64 bit Windows 7?
Thanks for any advice,
TJ.

Livecode Windows executables are all 32 bit.
The Windows version the executable is made on shouldn't make any difference.
I build Livecode Apps on Windows 7 and 8 (64bit) versions, and they always run on Windows 7 and XP (32 bit).
Maybe there is another reason for what you are experiencing.

Re: 64 bit build won't run on 32 bit...
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply. I am not really sure what the problem could be. Based on the error message my friend is getting I assumed that it must be an issue with 64/32 bit, but if it's not that I don't know why it would give that error message.
Thanks for any suggestions or advice,
TJ.

Hi tjo,
What version of Windows is your friend using?
If XP what service packs are installed?
Windows 7 -- is he using one of the basic versions -- Windows 7 Home Basic or Starter?
Language--English or ?
The error message is quite clear, but they can be wrong occasionally...
