Widgets Marketplace

I have not been following LC developments closely in recent times, so my apologies if my question sounds clueless!

With the introduction of LC8 and LCB, savvy programmers were supposed to be able to make widgets which they then could sell to others (like me) who need help with complex tasks. There was going to be a Widgets Marketplace for this purpose.

Is there such a marketplace? If not, what happened? What has been the constraint, demand or supply? What are the prospects, at this point?
