Open Source Code Archive

Post by trenatos » Thu Jul 11, 2013 11:12 pm

Here's a suggestion.

Since the Community Edition of LiveCode is Open Source and forces the users to release their code Open Source, why not create an archive of LiveCode based Open Source software?

It could have everything from snippets and blocks of code to full-fledged software in one easy-to-use and easy-to-find place.

Aha, there IS such an archive.
I found it through a searchengine.

I hadn't heard about it until I found it by mistake.

How does one actually "share" their stuff on revOnline or LCshare?
Login is not my Runrev login...
Didn't find a registration page either.
No "Upload" link.

Then I guess LCShare actually doesn't do any good.

Don't tell me, tell that to RevRun :P
I suggested making an OSS archive because I didn't think there was one. Turns out there is, but no one knows how to use it. lol

LiveCodeShare shows the same content as revOnline. To access revOnline and create an account there if you want to upload, do the following:

Open LiveCode.
Select the "User Samples" menu item.
Browse and download to your heart's content and/or select the link on the right which says "Sign Up".

(This login may not work in the web interface at LiveCodeShare, although I don't know why.)
