I really hope everyone will pledge. This could be a breakthrough moment for us all in more ways than one. And there are some very good deals on licenses too, so you'd be getting that for your money besides .

And can you explain this matching thing? Does this mean their $395k goal is actually only a $197.5k goal? Or does it mean that reaching $395k will then in turn make the total amount be $790k?

I'm presuming (probably wrongly) that Runrev will be using a LLVM to Javascript compiler, like Emscriptem.
Emscriptem has been forked over 700 times, so I would not be suprised if Runrev is using it, or something like it.
IIRC, RunRev wrote on the website that they're using emscripten.

While it's perfectly fine for folks to use the free community version, I'd encourage anyone who uses LiveCode for professional work to give back a little. It's not only the ethical thing to do, it will allow RR to give us even more than we paid for. Those matching funds are what did it for me.

since most folks hit View New Posts when they log in.
1) Only people who log in can see New Post, I have no idea on the stats of how many are just searching. Those are the people we'd like to buy-in to the instant rewards.
2) Only people who are interested in answering questions or are watching out for changes that might affect their stacks click on New Post (and I darn sure hope that they have already contributed what they can).
No worries if this is still a bad idea, I have bunches of them

I don't know if it's a bad idea, but as important as this event is personally I'm disinclined to set a precedent of encouraging posts in sections where it wouldn't be relevant. But as far as any relevant forum goes, feel free.
That said, I still think it would be a good idea to put that energy into the areas RunRev isn't already reaching, such as social media, blogs, etc.
