I currently don't have a proxy, but a few months ago I used to have one.... for some reason LiveCode had a proxy configured, don't know why, I installed it twice.

In Preferences ther was this config in LiveCode proxy settings: Empty the config to nothing and problem solved.

I'm pretty much dancing right now lol

PS: I was wondering why the function hostNameToAddress works bypassing the proxy? maybe it's because it's a dns function, or the proxy it's only for port 80?.... but then I saw it says "HTTP Proxy"

Very happy to see you got that worked out, and I hope you enjoy your happy dance while you can, because I have to report that your problems have only just begun:

Once you start building Internet-connected systems with LiveCode, at first you have that moment of elation and all seems right with the world.

But then you start tthinking up all sorts of other things you can do. And then you'll start installing LiveCode Server on all your web sites, and take out a VPS to have more, and you'll have your desktop stacks talking to your server stacks, and then you'll start collecting Raspberry Pis and have them running a cluster of LiveCode all over your living room, building bots, spiders, and all sorts of services, and before you know it your weekends and evenings will be consumed by this playground in which nearly anything you can dream up can be made.

So enjoy your moment while you can, before the serious signs of addiction set in.
