Hi Choong,
if you have the alwaysbuffer set to true the controls don't react to user interaction. Could that be the case?
alwaysBuffer -> dictionary
Kind regards

Hi Bernd,
that was my first thought, too, but then I saw the screenshot.
But who knows...

Ts, ts, ts, the youth of today...
Choong sent me the stack and I had not problems on Windows XP
under Parallels 6 on my Mac! I could play a MPEG 1 file without delay
and could use the volume slider!? Hmmmm...
What are the specs of your Windows machine, Choong?
Processor, RAM, HD, QuickTime Version, LiveCode version?
Are you using the latest video card driver?
Do the movies run fine in the QuickTime Player outside of LiveCode?
Best
Klaus

OS = windows vista business
service pk 2
RAM = 4.gb
Processor = intel core duo CPU T7250@2GHz
QT = version 7.6.9
HD = NTFS, 66.6 GB free space
LiveCode = RevStudio 4.0.0
=Build 950
The slider appears and quickly disappeared...just a flash, when you click on the volume icon, at the QT player.

Oh, the QT player runs fine outside LiveCode.....slow to load compare to window's media player, but not as slow as in LiveCode. Volume slider not a problem.
Video card = Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS

Thanks Klaus,
It is not a major problem as the volume can also be control by the Window's Volume control. Maybe I'll put in a slider bar.
