Well this is a wonderful meal. Hotblack Desiato over there could be a bit more animated perhaps, but overall a great dinner.

EDIT: I placed a request here for ideas about protecting images but have worked out a way using EXIF data to do this.
Any other ideas though would be appreciated.

Thanks

All joking aside, and back to bidge's issues and questions (sorry for all that tom foolery),
bidge I must have missed that somehow, I thought, so I went back and read through the other 2 pages and am still missing that question.

However, I did see where you were initially asking about -
loading images into a stack and
loading images from a default folder

If you have images stored in a folder on the users machine, I can think of no way to protect them (maybe someone else can chime in on that).
... I suspect putting the images in the stack would be the best protection, especially if it is encrypted. However, that won't stop someone from simply taking a screen shot of the image and then making use of it.
... Alternately you could have the images on a server and download them to your program for use, but again, there is the screen shot problem.

Ultimately, if you display anything on a computer screen, your chances of protecting that something are very small.

If I completely misunderstood what your looking for, please feel free to add more info :)

Hi bogs.
That's it. Just trying to come up with a way of protecting my artwork and app from being exploited.
I realize you can never protect it 100 percent but just a polite deterrent would do the trick for my peace of mind :)

Cheers

A while ago someone suggested putting a grid/mesh image on top of
images embedded in a stack so that people taking screenshot would end up with very
poor quality images.

This is a bit daft because the legit. user would end up with poor quality
images on-screen as well.

See what I mean:

Hi richmond62.
That's actually not a bad idea having an embedded watermark. Doesn't have to be a grid but just a simple spoiler image of some sort that is not too intrusive. Like they do with some thumbnails on image purchasing websites like shutterstock or dreamstime.

The trouble about a spoiler image is that it SPOILS things
(cf. lower image).

Not convinced.

I am sure your graphics are far superior to that quicky I just did, but lets say you watermarked the beejeesus out of the image. Someone uploads it to "I stole your super precious image nyah.com". How would you know?

The interwebz is a big place, ginourmous corporations have a hard time finding stuff on it. Just curious at this point :)

@ richmond - LOL LOL LOL
