This is a phenomenon that I am getting with Ubuntu Studio 14.04 (XFCE) where on firing up the IDE,
making a new main stack and trying to opne the Prefs palette via the 'Object' menu button of the
revMenubar stack I get a blank drop down menu.
Similarly, doing Ctrl k results in nothing.
A double click in the stack opens the prefs palette for the card.
