Testing My App on My Iphone

Post by dazza the stag » Fri May 30, 2014 5:32 pm

I have finished the first part of my new app ( first one ever ) and I have tested it on the simulator. Now I would like to test it on my iPhone, not via the app store I was hoping there was some way of simply dragging it onto the phone in iTunes - is that possible ? Just to get the feel of how it actually works on the actual device.

I did sign up for membership hoping that would help but Im still struggling. The last time i tried to build the app on a standalone basis it keeps saying I need a provisioning profile, but when I try to do that it wants me to sign up and pay apple some more money - which is not really what I want to do at this stage.

Are there any simple instructions on how to do what I am trying to do ?

Hi,

thanks to Steve-O, you need to be a paid member of the iOS developer programme,
even for testing the app on your own device!

Don't shoot the messenger, thanks! 8)

Hi Dazza,

yep, I know exactly how you feel NOW! 8)

Maybe this helps a bit:

And search the iOS forum for more info, this came up a couple of times in the past.
And surely will in the future :D
