What happens when my commercial license expires?
Can I still use my existing LC license to compile apps.
Thanks

Re: commercial license
With the new licencing model I thought you could no longer create new commercial applications once the licence expires. I was under the impression that LC reverted to community edition without continuation of the subscription after the year's up. Am I wrong?
Re: commercial license
Ouch, yes, sorry, I'm afraid you are correct!
Its been a while since I last read the smallprint

Re: commercial license
Ok so now that the commercial license expired, how do I continue from here with the community edition? I assume that the plugins that was bundled with the license when purchased will also not work with the community edition.
Also what was the purpose of "Generating the LiveCode offline activation file" one could use when not connected to the internet? I am still in a learning curve with LC and just want to carry on working through the tutorials.
Any inputs here would be appreciated

Re: commercial license
I regret to say,
This is the end of the road for me and LC

Re: commercial license
Hi GagSoft,
You will be able to access the community edition of LiveCode either from your store account or from our main downloads repository here http://downloads.livecode.com/livecode/. Any plugins that have protected scripts ("password protected") will not work with the community edition of LiveCode. Any that are "open source"/ non password protected will still work with LiveCode community (mobGui is an example of this)
The purpose of "Generating the LiveCode offline activation file" is useful if you do not have an internet connection but stil would like to licence a commercial version of LiveCode. It is not needed for LiveCode community..
I hope this gives you some leads but please do not hesitate to ask any further questions.
Kind Regards,
Neil Roger

Re: commercial license
Or you could extend your license by pledging to the HTML5 campaign at a substantial discount, and help the entire LiveCode community at the same time.
