Does the tool preinstalled at Development->Plugins->RegExBuilder help?

I'm 3rd, but first we should ask Therry if he is interested to do it.

See if RunRev would bribe Thierry with store stuff. He has shown himself to be the best regex here.

"Warum nicht :) ?"
Yes, I would be happy to do it.

So, let's wait and see what Runrev thinks about it.

I believe the Lessons section of livecode.com is already set up for community submissions, no?

@-hh
Since you asked for judgement on your level of impertinence, I find it to be extreme, rude, condesending and insulting. Not only in this post but in others both here and in your mailing list posts.

I'll make some allowances for language difficulties but I suggest you either learn to express yourself better in English or have your German friends suggest edits to all your posts.

[-hh] wrote:Honestly, Richard is genius enough to see that a tutorial in regex, that should also prepare examples for Unicode and HTML5 is not of category "(free) community contributions". And it's not doable by a freelancer for free, no matter who it is. Consequently this was, as I feel, well considered and intentionally insulting Thierry, in order to "hit" me. That's an arrogant impertinence of Richard.
Why throw words like "arrogant" into the conversation? I only asked if the existing tool that ships with LC was helpful. If that question somehow seemed offensive please accept my apologies, it certainly wasn't my intention to offend.

Of course a tool isn't a tutorial, but given the hundreds of very comprehensive tutorials widely available on the Internet for regex, it would be helpful to learn more about what you have in mind for LiveCode. If nothing else, sharing your vision will help anyone undertaking such a tutorial to better understand what's lacking among current so the specific augmentation your looking for might become actionable.

As for "Lessons", they're a popular feature at livecode.com so my reference them wasn't an attempt to inflame but merely to encourage. Many of the tutorials there were written by members of the community, so it seems there must be some existing mechanism by which they were submitted.

The Lessons can be found by either searching for "LiveCode Lessons" in most search engines, or in the taxonomy at livecode.com at ->Developers->Tutorials (yes, the site could benefit from more consistent labeling, as subject of a few of my meetings with the team):
http://lessons.runrev.com/

If the means to submit a tutorial there isn't self-evident, you (or anyone else interested in writing a tutorial) may need to write support AT livecode.com to ask how that's done.

Guys.

This is beyond silly. Richard had no other meaning in his post than what was on its surface. Hermann, are you sure you "read" this correctly? Knowing you just a little, I have to believe that you misread. I say this to you because I believe you are serious, honest, caring and good hearted. And smart. Really.

I am always afraid that, even among native English speakers there is the possibility of miscommunication. Americans and Brits have very different idiomatic slants, and this can only be more fragile with non-native speakers, however fluent.

I trust the intentions of both of you. This has to have been misunderstood.

Craig
