Getting Started
Hi All,
I am installing LiveCode onto Windows 7 64-Bit, to develop Android apps for Android devices.
Basically, I had tried different installation builds for Android SDK, JAVA JDK and the Livecode IDE.
Wonder if anyone would kindly share their experience on installation of LiveCode on a PC.
1. Which version of LiveCode? For example, 6.61, 6.62...
2. Which version of JAVA JDK? For example JDK 7, JDK 8...
3. Which version of Android SDK? For example Android Rev 20... (Any direct links to download).
I would really appreciate if anyone would kindly share their current version combination that works on a Windows 7 64-Bit.
Thanks.

Hi all,
Many thanks for responding.
I had everything installed. Set the AVD, clicked the Test Button, and system prompted that 'Unable to build app for testing:could not compile application class...
Any idea where I gone wrong.
Thanks.

Re: Getting Started
Hi Kelvin,
oh, sorry, that is the LC Commercial forum.
Here the "punchline" from that namely thread:
...........................................................
If building for Android, then you must use only Alphanumeric characters in the product identifier
(with exception of "." for reverse domain name structure). If you use other characters (e.g. "-","&"),
this could result in a failed build.

Hi Klaus,
Still no go.
1. I had purchased the commercial license.
2. I am running on Windows 7 64Bit, 16Gbyte RAM.
3. Android SDK Rev 20, Android 2.33 and Android 3 both enabled.
4. Both JAVA jdk-6u24-windows-i586 and jdk-6u24-windows-x64 installed.
Any ideas where have I gone wrong?
Thanks.

Let me reiterate...
5. I am trying to develop apps for android devices.
6. When saving the standalone, it prompted "There was an error while saving the standalone application could not compile application class"
7. Had browse and search the forum. Many encountered same issue, but did not manage to see any good solutions suggested.
Any ideas where have I gone wrong?
Thanks.

Hi Simon,
I even copy the 'C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_24' and created the JAVA_HOME at the environment variables under Windows.
But... still no go.
Thanks.
