Livecode Community Won't Open on Windows 7

Post by JereMiami » Fri Dec 12, 2014 2:21 am

Okay, so Livecode 7.0 was running for me just fine and dandy. Then, I try to open it one day (today), and the Windows spinning icon goes for about 7 seconds and then does nothing. Here is what I tried to do to resolve this issue:

1) removed my antivirus firewall
2) removed my antivirus software altogether
3) ran malware detection software
4) ran Windows disk cleanup
5) ran a registry cleanup software
6) ran Windows defrag
7) uninstalled livecode community 7.0 and reinstalled livecode community 7.0
8 ) uninstalled livecode community 7.0 and installed livecode community 6.7
9) turned windows DEP off specifically for livecode community
10) gave my latop the finger and ate a sandwich

Between the time it worked (three days ago) and did not work (today), I installed WAMP, MAMP, and livecode-community-server. Any help with what could be causing livecode community not to open would be greatly appreciated ... many thanks in advance

PS: Every other program on my computer works, including livecode-community-server.

you might look in C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\RunRev\Preferences, and move the preferences file for LC 7.0. Pretty sure thats where it lives. Then try starting LC again, it should put a fresh, clean version of the preferences file there. At which point if you're doing mobile dev, you'll want to point it at your adk again, and set any other preferences to your liking.

Oh ok I think I found something. C:/Users/User/MyDocuments/My Livecode/Externals
When I have the iGame3D Pro External.dll in that folder but not in the Livecode application or Externals folder then the program doesn't launch. I just launched Version 7 without any additional externals installed once I hid the DLL from that folder.
