Drag and Drop within same stack with png/jpg images...?

Hi All....

Looking for suggestions for how to go about incorporating a small clip art collection within a project. Ideally, I would like to incorporate it as a side panel that contains a horizontally scrolling field of the image collection. I'd like the user to be able to grab an image in the scrolling field and drag out a copy of it on to the card.

Can this be done? Are there any examples available?
