Problems Uninstalling a "buggy" Rev Studio 3.0

Post by acidjazz » Tue Mar 03, 2009 7:43 am

Hi all,

I've purchased Studio 3.0, and have a number of issues:

The main problem is that Revolution locks up all the time, especially when I'm in the script editor. Very frustrating.

So, I've decided to reinstall the whole program. But, I can't even UNINSTALL it. Vista says I don't have sufficient access. But, I'm the administrator, and I've tried everything including turning off UAC entirely, starting up in Safe Mode, etc. . What am I to do?

While I'm at it, the software for this forum seems kind of buggy too. When trying to delete something, it may take forever before it refreshes. I'm in Google Chrome and have lots of memory and a fast machine. I usually have to hit "Preview" to see what I actually typed. Strange.

Thanks,
Mark

I have no trouble installing and reinstalling Studio 3.0 on Vista. I run 3.0 primarily on Vista and I'm not having any of the problems you describe.

And if you're having problems viewing this forum, as well as Rev, then it sounds like either your computer is messed up, or your Vista system is mucked, or your infected with something.

I've had no issues with Rev on Vista, nor Chrome with these forums.

It's great that some folks are not having problems. But, I still need like to know how can I uninstall Revolution Studio 3.0?

I read about a number of people having trouble with uninstall in earlier versions, and I've also read about people having the program hang when in the new script editor, so I think I'm not an anomaly. I just don't know what do.

have you tried uninstalling it with an uninstaller program? say like, RevoUninstaller? It's freeware and you can download it through it's website www.revouninstaller.com or this direct link http://www.revouninstaller.com/revosetup.exe

hope this helps :D [/url]

Yup, that's what I ended up having to do. It worked! Thanks. And the new installation of Revolution seems to be behaving better now too.

What about having problems with the forums here? Did you resolve that yet? If not, be sure to scan your system with an AV program and an Malware scanner too.
