Application complete
After a ton of prayer, at least two hands full of hair loss and a lot of bothersome questions to the good people of this forum, My application is complete, and with only 2 days to spare on my 30 day trial. Since I am using the 30 day trial version of RunRev I have no user space to upload it. However, if there is anyone here who is geeky enough to play good old fashioned pen and paper roll playing games. feel free to check it out at https://sourceforge.net/projects/ddadvcreate/. I want to thank you all for getting me past the many stumbling blocks and putting up with my noobish questions. Hopefully I will be able to get a licensed copy within the next couple months and you can help me with my next project. Until then keep doing the wonderful job you are doing.

Congrats on finishing your first app. You will see it will get even easier the more you produce. When I am thinking of the first things I tried to build with Rev, I can tell you I would not have managed to produce anything usable within only 2 days!!! It took me quite a while before I groked it.
All the best,
Malte

Good to hear. All the best to you, magice.
You should get a full version of Rev. I think you might get the hang of it. I liked the way you never gave up, even if it seemed to go into a blind alley. You always managed to work around this and you made an app! With the experience you gathered on this project just imagine what you could do if you had time enough. (=more then 30 days)
all the best.

You grok too? And here I thought I was a stranger in a strange land.

Its a reference to a book by Robert Heinlen.
To grok is to share the same reality or line of thinking with another physical or conceptual entity. Author Robert A. Heinlein coined the term in his best-selling 1961 book Stranger in a Strange Land. ...

What does grok mean, excusing my ignoranimus?!You grok too?
It's funny. I read that grok statement an never thought anything of until someone pointed it out. It has become a common reference of true understanding in my family. I guess it just goes to show that computer geeks and good sci-fi go hand in hand. For anyone who hasn't read "A Stranger In A Strange Land" I highly recommend it. Just make sure that you are ready for a deeply philosophical and thought provoking read.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I thought D&D had long since died out, along with my youth and memory of it all!!!
My lvl 1 Mage Pwns You All!!! NOOOOBs!!
Sorry, was having a flashback there.
But yes, congrats on completing your first program, and no less, within 30 days too! It's not always easy taking on a new programming language and actually completing a project so soon with it. Hopefully that's a testament to you of Revolutions ease of use.

Contrats on getting this done. That's waaaaay impressive for under 30 days from a cold start to finished app, learning a new language and new environment along the way. You oughta think about writing up the journey as an article for the rev newsletter. It would be a great morale boost for other folks just starting out.
