I am using MacBook Pro, OS X, 10.10.5.
I was using LC 7.1 and was improving a working program which was working fine on desktop and had been compiling fine.
The next time I tried to compile to an apk file I got the following error:
" There was an error while saving the standalone application
could not compile application class"
I have tried the following steps to try to correct issue:
1. I made a new simple stack with just one button and tried to compile to apk, but got the same error.
2. I tried to compile and old file that I had not made any changes to that compiled fine before to apk, but got the same error.
3. I uninstalled LC 7.1 and reinstalled and tried to compile a simple stack to apk, but got the same error.
4. I restored my computer to a month before I ever had the problem and re-installed LC 7, but same error.
5. I installed LC 8 DP 10 and tried to compile a simple stack to apk, but got the same error.
I now have no idea of what to do, to be able to use LC again.
I hope someone can help me resolve this "Show Stopper",
David

Re: "...Could not compile application class" - Dead in the w
I'm not sure how it works on OSX, but have you pointed LiveCode to the android SDK and the Java JDK?
Re: "...Could not compile application class" - Dead in the w
Yes.
As I said, it had been working fine. There was a couple of times that LC got stuck in some sort of loop and I had to force the LC program to shut down and after that it would not compile any more stacks.
Thanks,
David

DR White, there was a small update recently to OS X. Right after installing it I began running into a very similar problem with my iOS app. Did you install that updated too? I was thinking it was due to some changes in LC 6.7.8 rc4 but you're not running that version so maybe I'm wrong.

Quailcreek,
You might be right. There was a small OS X update that was installed on my Mac and it was after that I started having problems.
GOOD NEWS!!!
I saw that LC 8 had to have Android GPI 15 and I did not have it installed.
After I installed the GPI 15 files and apparently other Android updates,
I could compile with LC 8 DP10, but I could not get my sound files to play.
I went back to LC 7.1 and "Low and Behold"!! my LC.1 now compiles without errors and sound files play like they should.
Thanks everyone for help,
David
