iAd shutting down?

Hi all,

I just read the message from apple saying iAd app network will be discontinued. it's confusing...but the announcement doesn't say iAd is shutting down. it just saying iAd app network will be discontinued..What does it mean?

I have been building app with iAd on it. I used mergebanner for iAd implementation..Can I submit my app integrated with iAds? or they don't accept any apps having iAd anymore? Please share what you think about it..

PS:if I can't submit the app integrated with iAds, what can be alternative option for Ads?

The iAd App Network will be discontinued as of June 30, 2016. Although we are no longer accepting new apps into the network, advertising campaigns may continue to run and you can still earn advertising revenue until June 30. If you’d like to continue promoting your apps through iAd until then, you can create a campaign using iAd Workbench. We will continue to keep you updated, but if you have any questions, contact us.

It seems clear they're in the process of shutting down. The LC team is working on a new framework to support alternative ad vendors. This won't be in v8.0, but likely soon after. Stay tuned....

As I saw the release date of old LC 7.1.0 , going from 7.0.0 to 7.1.0 took about 1 year.
New LC is still in 8.0.0 so will it take another year to have in-app Ad support?

Unlikely: the unusually long cycle between 7.0 and 7.1 was due in large part to the team's efforts to build 8.0, and also maintain 6.7.

At this point 8.0 is wrapping up, v6 and v7 will reach EOL soon and no longer be a burden on the team, so the team will be at long last focused on a single development branch.
