I have a problem here. I have opened a stack I made in LC 7 in LC 8 and have tried to go back to LC 7 again. However when I open the stack back in LC 7 and save the stand alone I get a error message now stating "there was an error while saving the standalone"(see attached pic) with "answer dialog" sub stacks attached to my main stack. However if I delete the sub-stacks and open it back up in LC 8 the "save as standalone" works fine. I have tried to save as legacy 7 and lower but of no use. Any other suggestions? Or am I stuck with LC 8 now.
(PS.Yes I did have a backup stack but was a week earlier. Lesson learned )
Is there any issue that is preventing you from moving your project into LC 8.x? If yes, I suggest you file a bug report at quality.livecode.com
Now back on topic. When you opened the stack in LC 8, did you create a standalone? If yes, did you choose "Search for Inclusions" or "Select Inclusions" in the "General" pane of the Standalone Application Settings?
I am wondering if you chose "Search for Inclusions" in LC 8, and then LC 8 added a non-backwards-compatible inclusion in the stack (most of the inclusions are stored as custom properties in the mainstack).

Just a couple of issues with LC 8 I did not want to deal with at the moment. The two for this project are a lot of graphical objects are misaligned and the performance I find not as robust. (It could be just down to the fact I built it is LC 7) Hence I wanted a stress free day of using LC 7.
Yes for the current stack I have selected "search for Inclusions" Maybe I should try going through them and seeing if one has a problem under 7.
