Get rid of these Commercials

Post by Ralph Forehand » Fri Nov 20, 2009 1:26 pm

Moderators - Please, Please, Stop the Commercials (which not even remotely have anything to do with Revolution programming) from being posted on every Topic NOW :!: :!:

Another Forum I participate in does not hesitate to suspend Forum members who violate Forum rules - after their posts are deleted, they are told why, and they continue to post prohibited posts.

I completely agree with Ralph. It is not impossible to make these attacks much more difficult for spammers to execute. Please, do something about it.

I also agree. The forum software urgetly needs an upgrade. As long as this doesn't happen, all I can do is deleteting the posts for the boards I have mod rights on. A tedious task, as I have to open each and every post and delete it by hand.

Cheers,

Malte

Malte,

Thank You for your prompt response and action in deleting those objectionable posts.

I appreciate your position's limitations - and can only hope other moderators follow your lead.

Thanks Again and TAKE CARE,
Ralph

Ralph,

Heather does the best she can, and she always reacts as fast as she can. We Mods are talking with each other. However my suspicion is that most of the problems come from the version of the forum Software. Until the time is there to get that upgraded, I suspect we will see another few attacks. And even after an upgrade there is no guaranty that it does not happen again. If you run a public forum, you always risk to attract to attract spammers. Then human interaction will be required.

All the best,

Malte
