Installing on iPad Witout Developer ID?

Hello, longtime developer but not with LiveCode.

If I want to test an app for my own use on an iPad do I do I have to buy an Apple Developer license?

If not, how do I install it on my iPad?

If I remember right, you can cable the device to your computer, select it in the Development -> Test Target menu, and choose Test. I don't think you need a profile for that.

I assume one can untether the iPad. If it has to stay tethered that is less great.

Yes, the tether is only for the installation.
