Forum Themes Please

Post by Garrett » Fri Nov 27, 2009 2:58 am

Can someone add a few more forum themes please. This default theme is a pain for me. I can't distinguish sections with new topics in them because the images do not have enough color difference in them for me to tell them apart :-(

I second this proposal for the same reason, and also the bold, red distinction of the moderators names on each of the forum headings draws attention away from the topics themselves. More contrast on the titles and icons, and less on the mods would be good.
I do generally love the upgraded forum though.
If it helps you Garrett, there is a useful "view unread posts" link on the main forum listing page. I find myself using that a lot.

I also find the bold red moderators distracting. On top it would be nice if RSS could be reinstated.
The "view unread posts" link is also my way of knowing what was posted since I last visited, at least until RSS is back.

Bernd

Edit: maybe I should become a bot, then at least I would know what is going on in the forum, they seem very interested... :)

Bump

Anything? Hello? Echo echo echo......

I can't even use this forum because of this issue. I have to set the post I made to send me an email if someone replies because It's too hard for my old eyes to see if there's new posts/replies in any sections. :-(

I suggest mailing support (inlcuding a link to this thread).

For the record: me too on forum admins and contrast. In addition I'm flabbergasted by the unusual choice to have names on the _right_ instead of the left, no forum I ever visited in all my internet time did that (hmm, make that "none that I re-visited regularly").

Nearing two months with not a single response from RunRev via this thread and nearing one month with no response via support email. Either they've fallen into the twilight zone or this suggestion is a no-go on the books. :-(

I suggest to mail them with the same case id until they react, if necessary up to daily.

Garrett,
maybe you might want to wait for a little while before sending an email to RunRev on a daily basis regarding the layout of this Forum. Due to two deaths, one in the family and the death of the marketing director things in Edinburgh will take some more weeks to sort out. And afterall the theme of this forum is not really of top importance. Although I'd like it changed too.
regards
Bernd

No, not going to bug them daily, that's just taking things too far. One forum thread and one email to support is as far as I go on such a thing.

Very sorry to hear of the deaths :-(

Just a reminder to check into adding at least one or two more forum themes. I'm pretty sure you can get the old theme we had installed into this version of PHPBB.

Thanks,
~Garrett

seriously: mail support, reuse the case id. increase frequence of mails, and repeat until you get an answer.
