Hey, wait a purple moment: the shadows of the letters are invariant: what does
vary are the angles of the squares the letters are on: so that is at least one less
factor to fuss about.

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic
Extremely tedious work involving exporting PNG images
of letters and then giving them long shadows in GIMP
and then importing them, imposting onto a blue background,
cropping and snapshotting.

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic
So, here I am setting things up for a fake multiplane session in Monday's LiveCode class.
- -
This shows the relationship between the layers for both a sideways and
a back-and-forth parallax animation based on the idea of a multiplane camera.
The images are available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/foamg65f1lk93 ... e.zip?dl=0
The original images come from here: https://craftpix.net/freebies/free-dese ... ckgrounds/

You have to love Craftpix: they saw me coming miles away:

"What's wrong down there, Allan?"
-
https://youtu.be/YdHTlUGN1zw at exactly 6 minutes.
- -
Well, Allan was having a tough time with a gear wheel on one of the layers
of the multiplane camera,
So, tomorrow I'll try and pay tribute to Allan by implementing a vertical "wheel" and
a distance adjuster "wheel" with that stack I have just referenced in the previous post.

And let's NOT forget that although Walt Disney was getting "all sexy" in that film about
the multiplane camera, the first film made using layers was The Adventures of Prince Achmed
by Lotte Reiniger:

Well, here's a start, allowing both vertical and horizontal movement of the layers:

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic
Now it is time to have fun shifting an animated character between layers:
