I'm new at this so please forgive me if the request is stupid.
I've downloaded the three altPlugins from runrev. I'm only interested in the altSQLite plugin, but I can't figure out how to get any of them to work.
I thought just opening the stack would do, but studio gives me a message of "There was a problem opening that stack:" I then tried placing the plugins in the plugins directory then restarting studio, they did not appear in Development> Plugins and I still could not open the stacks. I also noticed the system permissions were different than the other plugins and attempted to make them the same. That didn't help either. How does one go about loading these plugins? Thanks...
BTW; I'm using Studio 2.6.1 Build 152 on Linux.

First of all, AltPlugins are currently not available for Linux. This doesn't mean that they don't exist. They just can't be downloaded from the Revolution site and the stacks include an answer dialog saying that the plugins have to be installed manually on Linux. This makes me wonder, are you sure that you have the right plugins for Linux?
The AltPlugins are no plugins but externals. You will not find them in the plugins menu.
If you don't have the documentation, I suggest you download the plugins again, together with the documentation that is now available. The documentation can be accessed after you submit your Revolution license to download the plugins. After downloading the plugins, you can bookmark the documentation page.
I don't know which stack you are referring to, but I bet it is a stack for Rev 2.7.x instead of 2.6.1. Version 2.7 uses a different stack format, which cannot be opened by 2.6.1.
The plugins that can be downloaded from the RunRev site can be used with a valid license. If your license has expired, you are not entitled to using the plugins.
If you have a current Revolution license, you might want to contact support and see if they are willing to provide you with stacks and plugins for Rev 2.6.1 for Linux.

Thanks for the information. I have an active license, but since 2.6.1 is the latest release for Linux, I just signed up for the Beta test program. Hopefully I can get a new beta version to see if the stack compatibility is the issue I'm having.
Also, I think the beta test is a good opportunity to find out what the differences in platforms are. I'm starting to think I should have purchased the Mac version and upgraded the old mini.

Quite frankly, RealBasic 2007 is a better bet if you're wanting to do any SQLite application development.
