I did a google search this morning, after church.
I searched "app development software".
LiveCode is still not coming up as a result.
I don't see how LiveCode can compete, if no one can find them.
I will say the LiveCode.com site looks very nice!

Re: LiveCode Sustainability
I'm not entirely sure what you would expect to see from such a generic search? I'm pretty sure anyone who uses LC (or any xTalk language) probably knows it is not a top 10 language of choice, possibly not even a top 50 or 100 choice.
However, switch that to emphasis to well known, instead of top choice, I didn't see 'basic' in any of the results either and I would wager basic is a fair bit better known than most scripting languages.
Other no shows would also include Pascal / Delphi, Lua, Squeak, etc. which I would also place better known than LC. I have no stick in this fire per se, but if your writing about app development software your most likely to write about software that is higher in the (current) popularity ratings, not about software that fits a relatively minor niche or even a major niche (such as basic).
Currently popular {cross platform} programming software / frameworks are going to be (at least by search defined results) things like:
JavaScript, Java, Ruby, React Native, Flutter, Ionic, Xamarin, NativeScript, Node.js and Qt
I did find one mention of Lc within the wikipedia article mentioned in a search, but if you were expecting more than that, I think your expecting too much.

Maybe they are not trying to compete: just feed a coterie following.I don't see how LiveCode can compete, if no one can find them.

Re: LiveCode Sustainability
As I’ve been saying for a while, LiveCode is the best kept secret…
Generic searching won’t find it. If you search for cross platform development it should show up directly but it doesn’t.
There is a 1-line mention of it in a link to Wikipedia on said search:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-platform_software
This has been mentioned in repeated posts but I guess it costs money to advertise as a sponsored link in Google etc…
