Sound Files As Control vs. Loading and Playing

Post by xfratboy » Mon Apr 26, 2010 6:25 pm

Is there a downside to embedding sound files as controls vs. playing them from a file folder location? I've got maybe 100 little sounds (all under 50kb each)? I thought it'd be easier to import my sounds as controls vs trying to load them from a file folder somewhere on the local disk. However, if there's a downside to this I'd love to hear some thoughts.

Thanks

Cons: Bigger file size, probably more memory usage, and keeping many files organized and updated might be easier on the desktop (matter of preference).

Pros: Should be faster playback response, some terms of use prefer embedding media for distribution, sounds will always be there and won't get moved around accidentally on user's system.
Best wishes,
