wich quicktime component for an ".avi" movie

Post by jmburnod » Sun Jan 02, 2011 5:05 pm

Hi All,

I have some movies in ".avi" format and quicktime invite me to download a component. (These movies come from windows and i work with OSX)

The apple quicktime resources page show same components but which ?
Nothing about ".avi"

Best regards

Bonsoir Jean-Marc,

like "*.mov" is "*.avi" just a container for different codecs.
To be sure to cover most possible codecs install PERIAN (http://www.perian.org) and maybe
Flip4Mac (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... components).

Best

Klaus
