Re: Request for Platform Specific Forum for Android
I second that request, this is a great idea!
Re: Request for Platform Specific Forum for Android
Sounds like a good idea to me.
Operating System: macOS Monterey Version 12.5
LiveCode Version: 9.6.8
LiveCode Version: 9.6.8
Re: Request for Platform Specific Forum for Android
I don't like that. What i'd want is less forums. THe only way I look at the forum right now is trough the "new posts" page. Mostly because otherwise i'd need to click trough more then 20 pages (and back for each) just to see new content!
So please make less forums, not more. There should be 8 forums _max_ altogether.

if it's good enogh for iOS to have a section, it's good enough for Android to have one as wellBvG wrote:I don't like that. What i'd want is less forums. Re: Request for Platform Specific Forum for Android
Why not have one mobile forum, but put the platform at the start of the subject field.
IOS: iphone / ipad
ANDROID:
WM7: Windows mobile 7 - just a thought for the future
WCE: Windows mobile 6 / Windows CE
WEBOS: Palm web os etc
So you would start your topic by putting the platform at the start of the Subject field
eg
ANDROID: Request for Platform Specific Forum for Android
If the identifiers were made into a sticky post at the start of the forum most people would hopefully follow the sugestions

Re: Request for Platform Specific Forum for Android
Only my opinions.
I just find looking thru all new posts a waste of my time.
Especially if all the topics are busy.
Not sure why anyone would need less forums if they just read thru all new posts anyway.
Might as well just have one forum topic for all of LiveCode posts.
I use the Last Post date n time on the Board Index to see if there has been additional posts since my last visit.
So much faster.
Have a look at wikipedia and see the differnece from Android market popularity.
Others pale.
I$hone/I$ad are an expensive waste of my money/time/and effort.
Its my intention to stay away from their related post as I don't want to be distracted.
But certainly accept its popularity.
I'll give RunRev a few more weeks to get LiveCode for Android specific forum sorted.
If not to my liking I'll just start my own.
As its too easy for me to setup and get my own running.
And too easy to close it down at a moments notice.
