Adroid Platform

Post by bruges » Tue May 17, 2011 10:35 am

Could we please get the Adroid Platform under the Platform specific topics on the forum. All platforms are currently covered except Android. (well other than the web plugin which is in need of some love).

And before anyone says "no, there are too many forums already" we could let an Android specific forum take the place of one of the ones we don't really need. (Solaris and other 'nix? with three threads? One in 2006, one in 2007 and one in 2009?)

This has come up before, and was summarily dismissed for the reason cited by SparkOut. If there are too many threads in the forum, then why is there an iOS thread cluttering up the Platform Specific section, and not an equivelant Android thread?

I suspect that the Android development has been the stepchild up to this point. However, that is changing in the real world. Now, apparently, LiveCode Android development has moved out of the "pre-release" stage, and is nearing the point where robust apps can be marketed. It's time to have a place to discuss Android specific issues in the LiveCode forum, so no argument, just do it.

Respectfully,

Gene Lambert

I agree take Solaris out. 4 posts... last post on 'Wed Sep 02, 2009 2:29 pm'. It doesn't appear to be doing much good for anyone. There seems to be a lot more interest in Android and it would be good for future users of the Android platform to see a dedicated forum for it.

Can I say "me too? " That's the platform I'm mostly developing on right now. Richard?

Hi Jaqueline,

sorry, neither Richard or me are allowed do this!
Ask the mothership/Heather to set up a new section for this.

Best

I sent a note to Heather, referencing this discussion.

Looks like she jumped on it right away:
