Change background on OS

I have a lot of pictures I want to sort through programmatically in order to visually demonstrate my team's achievements over the semester. Our project website does the calculations and a Python script pulls everything offline to set up for discovery by my LiveCode program. My question is very simple. Is there a way within LiveCode to modify the desktop background picture? I plan to change my computer's desktop background whenever it detects a change was made to the files I'm watching. Already, I can invision a few workarounds, but if possible, I'd like to actually change the background and not just float images
