Bug question

Post by richardmac » Thu Dec 15, 2011 4:12 am

I am running LiveCode 5.0.2 and I have an issue that might be a bug. The RunRev website tells me to search the Quality Control Center before submitting a bug. It also tells me that if I don't have an account in the Quality Control Center I'll be asked to register.

So I go to the Quality Control Center (http://quality.runrev.com), and there's a login screen, but there's no way to register. I try my forum account info (nope) and I try my regular LiveCode account info (nope.)

My question is, how do I register in the Quality Control Center to do a search on a possible bug? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You have to be a developer program member, as far as I know...
14" MacBook Pro
Former LiveCode developer.
Now recovering.

There is nothing on the web page on the site that says that. The web page literally says that you can go to the Quality Control Center and it will create an account for you, but it doesn't.

What I did was email the RunRev folks directly and they made an account for me. Somewhere in the process of reporting a bug I came across the statement that people who are in the developer program might get their bugs looked at a little faster than non-developers, which means if you're a serious developer you should probably be in the developer program. I'm not making enough money off of LiveCode right now to do that, but hopefully by this time next year I will be.

So the moral of the story is to email support directly and suggest that you'd like to be able to enter bugs officially via the Quality Control Center, and they'll create an account for you. RunRev should change the wording on their web page - I'll email them and suggest it.

FWIW, there's a category in the Quality Control Center for "Quality Control Center" so you can file bugs against it there.

Ah! I should probably do that, then.
