How often and how much it will cost me to upgrade?

Post by raulvelazquez » Sun Jan 22, 2012 7:52 am

I planning to buy the commercial SW with the iOS and Android extensions, but...
I just saw the posts in the Announcements section and I realize that for every major upgrade, I have to pay,
Now, the last post there was when the 4.6 came out.
So my question is, if I buy the SW, in average, per year, how much do I have to pay to stay current? Taking in account that I will have the Android and the iOS extensions.

Thank you!

Hi,

If you buy iOS and Android only, every year, it will cost you approximately 500 euro per year. If you want everything, it'll cost you 600 euro per year.

I just buy what I need when I need it. This way, it should cost me approximately 350 euro per year (sometimes less, sometimes more). I don't know how this is going to turn out with the new licensing scheme yet, because it is unclear to what extent RunRev will provide free updates, which is one reason why I postpone buying new licenses as much as possible.

Kind regards,

Mark

You'd get a more definitive answer if you write to support. Updates in the past have averaged about once every 3 months or so, and if you are in the developer program, more often.

Did you guys get any good answers? I was able to get from support that 3 months of updates are included then the updates cost separately around $100 each.

Hi,

I t hink all the answers are here and in the store already. Look at the prices in the store after logging in. In your account, you can see how much it costs to buy an update or a new license. You can buy a subscription for 600 euro and my estimate is that if you just buy what you need but no more than that it is going to cost you 350 euro per year. If you only develop for Mac OS X and Windows, it is much cheaper than that and a subscription really isn't worth the money. If you want to have everything, then you will probably want to pay the 600 euro.

Kind regards,
