Looking for info about groups...

Post by AtoZ » Fri Mar 23, 2012 8:36 am

In the entry on group objects in the LC Dictionary is the following paragraph:
The group object has a number of properties and messages associated with it. To see a list of messages that can be sent to a group as a result of user actions or internal LiveCode events, open the "LiveCode Language Dictionary" page of the main Documentation window, ensure that the group column is visible and use sort and filter to bring the relevant entries to the top.
I suspect this may be referring to the online version of the LC Dictionary, where you can search for "group", but I see no way to sort or filter the material. After extensive serching around the online LiveCode resource material, I have been unable to find any place where I can "ensure that the group column is visible and use sort and filter to bring the relevant entries to the top."

Can anyone enlighten me as to how to find the list of messagaes that can be sent to a group.

Thanks.

Hi AtoZ,
Bildschirmfoto 2012-03-23 um 09.39.17.png
as seen on the picture: open object on the left, then choose group. In the right hand pane choose type to sort by type. Scroll to messages in the type column. It gives you all the messages associated with groups.

Kind regards

Bernd

Thanks for your quick reply. I actually looked there, but somehow missed the entry for groups (perhaps the Objects section was collapsed and I didn't notice). Sorry to take up your time for such an obvious thing, but I'm glad I asked rather than stewing in my own obtuseness.
