Run RevTalk from QR codes

Post by ooper » Fri Mar 30, 2012 2:21 am

Be first in supporting QR as a dynamic platform where scripts are embedded in the QRcode and then interpreted by LiveCode running in a mobile device. You can do this already using a QR reader plugin, but it would be best if you could increase the ten-line limit of a dynamic “do” command at runtime…

I know you’d ask about use cases, so without giving away my product ideas, imagine deploying your apps on a piece of paper that you can stick anywhere, such as a an appliance with wi-fi, effectively turning your mobile phone into a control console without having to download an app! You could also use it for onsite/realtime gaming, or a way to record your presence, or prompt you for information, and so on and so forth.

PS. If you are going to comment, **please** don't dwell too much on the examples and stick to the merits of the Feature Request :)

Hi Carl,

Ain't gonna happen. First, the 10-line limit is more likely to be removed altogether than to be increased. Second, Apple won't allow reading and executing code that way on iOS.

Kind regards,

Mark

Point your phone somewhere and have it execute code "just so?"
I think the security implications render the idea nil and void.
